Why does the MYCOVER Premium Outdoor Chopper Covers cost more than other covers?
To answer the question in a nutshell:
Because other Chopper Covers often only offer you basic rain protection with many compromises and disadvantages!
Our own experiences with other chopper tarpaulins:
Due to our living situation, our first vehicles had to be parked outside all year round, which is why we wanted to protect them with a cover to preserve their value: In just 3 years, we have worn out – unbelievably – 9 different Motorcycle covers.
As we unfortunately found out ourselves, the Covers on the aftermarket often only offer basic rain protection for a limited time and (probably for cost reasons) many of the necessary functions have been skimped on. We not only bought Covers from well-known brand manufacturers, but also the so-called “test winners” and “bestsellers”:
The result was simply disappointing for us after just a few weeks!
After only a short use, the seams often came loose, the fabric tore, mold on the inside, metal rings caused scratches in the paint and because of the poor fit, the first rust appeared due to standing moisture … One thing we can tell you: This issue has cost us not only unnecessary money, but also a lot of time and nerves!
After talking to biker friends about our experiences, we then quickly realized that we were not alone with this problem.
This was definitely not what we had in mind for our vehicles and we had to take action!
After almost two years of development, we had developed an outdoor Covers without compromise: We explicitly opted for outdoor fabrics that have been tested over many years and are extremely hard-wearing, which are also finished with a double nano-coating.
Carefully sewn by hand, the unique and striking design of the MYCOVER® Chopper Covers. One of the design highlights are the reflective stripes that are elaborately incorporated into the seam and run around both sides, which provide reliable 360° visibility protection, not only at night.

Exclusively soft inner flow and no heat protection material:
In order to protect your sometimes very sensitive special paintwork and e.g. powder-coated exhaust systems even better from scratches, we have dispensed with the internal heat protection in the lower area of our Chopper Outdoor Covers and equipped the Chopper Outdoor Covers exclusively with our soft, paint-protecting inner fleece.
Extra pockets (4x) on the inside for the safety straps:
To protect your special paintwork even better when putting on the Covers, you can now securely stow the safety straps in specially designed pockets on the inside of the Covers and close them with Velcro. More protection for your paint really does not go! After putting them on, you can then let the safety straps fall out of the protective pockets by simply releasing the Velcro and additionally fix the Covers if necessary.
Extra openings (2x) for your battery charging cable:
Due to the use of alarm systems, the battery of Chopper motorcycles must be charged frequently. For this purpose, we have made 30cm long and reclosable openings for your battery charging cable on the right and left side, each at the height of the battery. Charging your battery with the MYCOVER Covers has never been so easy!
Why does an outdoor chopper tarpaulin need a license plate window?
AFTER § 10 ABs. 2 GZV and §23 par. 1 StVO, a viewing window for a chopper cover is mandatory and a warning can be issued in the event of non-compliance. Better buy a Chopper Covers with a window for the license plate and save the money of a warning for a tour with your friends!
Does an outdoor Chopper Cover protect against theft?
More than 20,000 two-wheelers are stolen in Germany every year…
The MYCOVER® Chopper Covers not only protect you from prying eyes, but are also equipped with two security openings at the front and rear wheel for the use of your motorcycle lock. Combine your new MYCOVER® outdoor chopper tarpaulin with a high-quality ABUS lock, for example, this combination offers you excellent theft protection and guarantees quieter nights.
Does the Chopper cover protect against scratches?
The soft inner lining of the MYCOVER® Covers minimizes scratching and contributes to the best possible value retention of your Chopper.
Our recommendation: Before you use a chopper cover, your chopper must be clean (no sand, oil or other dirt, etc.).
The friction generated when the chopper cover is pulled on or the movement caused by the wind can result in unintentional damage to the paintwork, plastic parts, mirrors, rims, etc. or damage to the cover if the chopper is dirty. Therefore, clean your vehicle regularly and look forward to a long-lasting radiant paintwork and optimum value retention.
What is the best way to put the chopper cover on my chopper?
Step 1: Raise front
- Align the fully extended Chopper Covers with the vehicle.
- Starting with the front, put the chopper cover over the mirrors and handlebar ends over the front fairing.
- Pull the Chopper Covers apart using the handle on the lower hem (to the left and right of the reflector strip) and pull it completely down over the front wheel.
Step 2: Place the chopper cover over the seat
- Spread the rest of the chopper cover over the vehicle (over the seat).
- Go to the rear of the vehicle.
Step 3: Cover up to the tail
- Pull the chopper tarpaulin apart using the handle on the lower hem (to the left and right of the reflector strip).
- Put the tarpaulin completely over the license plate and the rear tire.
What prevents the Outdoor Chopper cover from being blown away by the wind?
Thanks to the two safety belts of the MYCOVER® chopper tarpaulin (in front of the rear wheel and behind the front wheel), the fabric adapts perfectly to the shape of your vehicle.
A good fit not only looks much better and prevents annoying flapping in the wind, but also minimizes wind susceptibility (risk of tipping over due to wind) and reduces friction on your Chopper.
Only a properly fitting Chopper cover can protect your motorcycle in the long term!
How do I look after the Chopper protective tarpaulin properly?
Important to avoid damaging the double nano-coating of the chopper cover: No cleaning agents or similar may be used for cleaning.
We recommend wiping the chopper tarpaulin with lukewarm water only.
- The Outdoor Chopper Cover must not be left on the ground to dry.
- We recommend using two outdoor chairs or a long clothesline.
- Improper drying, e.g. using clothespins (sharp edges), a dryer or similar, can damage the Chopper Covers. Be careful when cleaning the license plate viewing window (prone to scratching).
How do I get the Outdoor Chopper tarpaulin neatly back into the transport bag?
The scope of delivery of the Chopper Covers includes a transport bag.
Before the chopper tarpaulin can be stored or transported, it must be completely dry and clean.
Dirt and moisture can lead to the formation of mold or damage to the Covers or packaging. The Covers must not be folded or creased at the license plate window or the ventilation ears, as irreversible damage may be caused.
Our recommendation: When folding the cover for the transport bag, you should start with the license plate window so that it is not creased in the transport bag:
What should I look out for when comparing outdoor chopper covers?
- To protect against rust, an outdoor Covers should not only be waterproof, but also breathable.
- Make sure you have adequate UV protection to keep the plastics, rubber components and paint from fading.
- For protection in winter and summer, the material must be cold and heat stable.
- To protect the paint from bumps and scratches, look for a durable material with an adequately lined, cotton-like inner fleece.
- AFTER § 10 ABs. 2 GZV and §23 par. 1 StVO, a license plate window / viewing window is mandatory and is subject to warning in the event of non-compliance. Better save the money for a tour with your friends!
- Make sure that the Chopper Cover is dirt-repellent. For example, through a coating. This additionally protects the value retention and facilitates cleaning.
- Even with a Cover, your Chopper must be clearly visible to other road users. Reflectors or reflective fabrics significantly improve visibility at night!
- Ensure a good fit, e.g. with an elastic hem, to minimize susceptibility to wind and friction between the Covers and the vehicle.
- Look at additional fuses against wind. For example, by means of safety belts or other holders.
- A properly positioned heat shield material can not only protect against a warm exhaust or engine, but also significantly reduce moisture absorption from the ground.
We recommend using a Covers not only for outdoor use. Also in the garage, underground garage or carport, this reliably protects against dust, dirt, scratches and bumps.
Don’t save at the wrong end!
I would like to protect my chopper in the best possible way with an outdoor chopper cover. What should I pay attention to?

In my search for a high-quality housse, I came across MYCOVER. I was a little skeptical about the size, especially the rear height. When I asked by email, I was assured that the size would fit, but if it didn’t it wouldn’t be a problem because the tarpaulin would then be replaced.
After ordering, everything went very quickly, was processed the same day and dispatched the next day.
The tarpaulin fits almost perfectly and I have a good feeling about the quality. Side cases that I might buy one day would also fit well under the tarpaulin.
I’m very happy with it, the quality of the tarpaulin will have to prove itself over time, but I have hardly any concerns about that.
